CITRUS PICK-UP, Friday, Dec 3

For those band members who sold fruit:

Citrus Pick-up is scheduled for this Friday, Dec 3 from 2:30-6:30pm. Items will be in the hallway between the bandroom and the stage.

OMEA SOLO AND ENSEMBLE

All members of the band program are highly encouraged to participate in OMEA Solo and Ensemble. This adjudicated event is a great opportunity for those who would like to improve their musicianship.

Interested students should sign-up in the band office before Dec 1.

Performance Date: Saturday, Feb 5 at Crestwood High School

iMPACT INDOOR DRUMLINE

Students who are intested in audition information should sign-up in the band office this week.

All students in the band program are able to audition for membership in this group. Audition results will determine part assignment. Not all students who audition will be accepted into the group.

More information will be available this week.

JAZZ BAND

This ensemble will begin in the second semester. Students will be given a 1/2 credit for their participation in the group.

Music, instrumentation and performance dates will be available after winter break.

PEP BAND

As basketball season approaches, sign-up forms will be posted in the bandroom. Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen will be given the option to select their group based on the schedule.

Dress for pep band is the black band t-shirt and jeans.

This Friday is Senior Night. All seniors and their parents will be introduced during Pregame.

After our first Pregame Song, Monster, Senior Members will come off the field and join their parents in the endzone. Once introduced, Senior Members will return to the field for the remainder of Pregame.

Report time: 8pm to the HS Band Room
Dress: Jeans, tennis shoes, Black Band T-shirt
Performance: "Modified" Senior Show


Important Details:
*Pep rally begins immediately after the varsity soccer game, band will play fight song
*We will march and play Get Ready, then play the Alma Mater from the ending chart of Get Ready
*Fall athletes will be introduced, so band/athletes may wear their sport jersey and be introduced with their team. After being introduced, band/athletes will return to the field to finish our performance

HOMECOMING WEEK EVENTS

We have several events the week of Homecoming, so please mark your calendar:

Wednesday - rehearsal 7pm - 9pm (anticipate the rehearsal ending at 9:30 because we will be practicing with the Homecoming Court also)

Thursday - Community Pep Rally (following the varsity soccer game). The band will be performing on the field, so all members are required to participate

Friday - Homecoming game vs. Perry

Hello Band!!!
Here are report times and information for this Saturday's Band Show:

Upon arrival, students must be wearing the black band t-shirt.

4:15pm - Rehearsal on the field with Riverside Regiment
*Students should be on the field at 4:15 and gather on the front sideline. Riverside will be rehearsing, so please do not disrupt

After the rehearsal with Riverside, both bands will eat and socialize in the high school cafeteria.

Pregame and the Parade of Bands begins at 7pm.

ITEMS TO BRING ON SATURDAY:

Freshmen - one bag of wrapped, assorted candy
Sophomores - Desserts (cookies, brownies, etc.)
Juniors - Chips or Pretzels
Seniors - cups

THUNDER OVER AURORA, Sept 25

Our annual marching band show is Saturday, September 25. Please make sure to sell tickets for this event - it will be a great time!

Schools attending:
NDCL, Euclid, Chardon, Riverside, Stow-Monroe Falls

More specific information will be released soon, but students should plan to arrive at the high school for approx. 3:45pm. We are hosting the Riverside Regiment marching band for a pizza and dance party before the show begins. It's going to be a fun time!

Upcoming Events

Hello Band Family!
Just a few reminders:

1. Tomorrow, Wednesday, beginning at 12 Noon, we will be moving the final items from the Orchestra Room into the Band Room. We could certainly use your help!

2. Wednesday Evening Rehearsals are a required portion of our Band Program. Each Wednesday rehearsal is from 7pm - 9pm. Tomorrow, 8/11/10, students should meet in the Band Room. Please remind your student to have music checked for memorization. This is also a large portion of their grade.

3. Band picture is on August 19. Again, all members should be in the Summer Uniform. Students should report to the band room at 9:30am. If a student is a member of fall athletics, those pictures will be taken after the band photo.

4. Our program will be a large part of the Grand Re-opening for the High School on August 20! All band members should report to the band room at 5pm wearing the Summer Uniform. The event begins at 6pm in the front HS parking lot.

BAND CAMP 2010!

Our annual band camp is upon us!
Please see below for more information.

Sunday, August 1:
All students need to arrive to the HS Bandroom by 1:00pm.
We will load the buses and leave.
If your family signed up to bring an item, please remember to bring it (ex. watermelon, popsicles, etc)

Any student bringing medication, even OTC medication - a blue form must accompany any medications, and it must be in the original container.

Remember to bring these items: instrument, music, music lyre, valve oil / reeds, many pairs of socks, tennis shoes , toothbrush, personal shower items, bedding (including a pillow), pencils, sunscreen, bug spray. There are many other items students should bring, please refer to our Band Camp Handbook for a comprehensive packing list.

Once we arrive to camp, we will move personal items into our assigned rooms/cabins, then move music equipment to the assigned locations. Then the fun begins!!

July 1, Full Band (including Flags and Highlights), 6:30pm-8:00pm.
Yankee Doodle, Cadences

July 2, Full Band (including Flags and Highlights), 6:30pm-8:00pm.
Yankee Doodle, Cadences. We will be outside marching.

July 4, Full Band
**Uniform - Summer Uniform (band polo, band shorts, white socks, white shoes)
**The Band Room will be open from 11am until 1:00pm to get equipment and instruments. **Members are to report to the parking lot of Heinen's by 1:15pm to line up for the parade.
**Parade begins at 1:30pm.
